Since 10 April 2025, Brazil reinstated visa requirements for citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia — reversing a temporary waiver — but replaced the old paper/embassy process with a fully online e-Visa at brazil.vfsevisa.com, the government's designated platform, operated by VFS Global. You create an account, fill in your details, upload documents, and pay online — no consulate visit or agent required. Citizens of the EU, UK and MERCOSUR countries generally don't need any visa at all for short visits.
