Overview
Ghana's Immigration Service, working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, runs a self-service eVisa portal at evisa.immigration.gov.gh, accepting applications from over 100 countries. The portal includes a built-in eligibility checker: enter your nationality and it tells you whether you're visa-free, need an ETA, or need the full eVisa. You register, complete the form, upload documents, and pay online — no embassy visit required for eligible nationalities.
Visa categories
| Visa-free | For a defined list of nationalities, largely African. |
|---|---|
| ETA | A lighter electronic authorization for a shorter list of eligible countries. |
| eVisa — tourist/business | The standard self-service route for most other eligible nationalities. |
