Overview
Iceland is a Schengen member outside the EU, with its own visa authority, the Directorate of Immigration. Because Iceland has relatively few overseas missions, applications in many countries are submitted through a Danish embassy acting on Iceland's behalf, or a designated Visa Application Centre. You still complete the harmonized Schengen form and gather your documents yourself — the in-person visit is for the standard EU biometrics requirement.

Documents checklist

3. Gather your documents

4. Book and attend your appointment
Submit documents and give biometrics at the mission or VAC assigned to your location — often a Danish embassy representing Iceland.
5. Pay the fee
Pay the standard Schengen fee (around €90) at your appointment.
6. Track your decision
